Trophies and Criteria

Cotswold Endurance has a wonderful selection of regional trophies and awards available to our members. These awards are presented at our Annual Awards Celebration.

 

We are very proud to be able to offer awards to celebrate a variety of achievements. 

 

In order to be eligible each member must have volunteered at least once per season for a minimum of half a day.

Reference: EGB handbook  1.1.14 Volunteering - All members should volunteer to help at rides or other events at least once in the season. 

The criteria for the trophies we have are as follows:

Cotswold Champion - Awarded to the horse/pony that has gained the most points in all EGB rides over the season.

Cotswold Spirit - Awarded to the highest placed Arabian horse in all types of EGB rides, including pleasure and social rides. THIS MUST BE APPLIED FOR

Dorallt Queen - In loving memory of Tracy Walters. Awarded to the horse/pony, at novice/open/advanced level, gaining the most points out of a maximum of 10 GERs.

Open - Awarded to the open horse/pony who has gained the most points out of a maximum of 10 GERs.

Veteran (Coednewydd Meteor) - Awarded to the horse/pony aged 16 years and above who has successfully completed the most kms at all types of EGB rides, including social and pleasure rides. THIS MUST BE APPLIED FOR

Novice - Awarded to the novice horse/pony in their first season of endurance (not to have competed in any graded EGB rides before 1st January 2024) gaining the most points in their best 8 endurance rides of 42km and below.

Pure Native - Awarded to the registered Pure Native Breed horse/pony gaining the most points in their top 10 EGB rides. THIS MUST BE APPLIED FOR

Pleasure/SocialAwarded to the horse/pony completing the highest number of kilometres in all Pleasure, Social rides THIS MUST BE APPLIED FOR

Rufus - Awarded to the horse/pony that is not registered with any breed society, gaining the most points in their best 10 EGB rides. THIS MUST BE APPLIED FOR

Young Rider -  Awarded to the young rider (14 - 25 years from 1st January) gaining the most points in their best 10 EGB rides.

Junior Rider -  Awarded to the junior rider (13 years and under from 1st January) gaining the most points in their top 10 EGB rides.

Helpers - Awarded to the person considered by the Cotswold Committee to have been an “unsung hero” during the year

Clear Card - Awarded for a horse having a 'clear card' (all rides passed) with at least 6 rides to count.
